Who are the skilled workers needed in Canada?


Canada has a high demand for skilled workers as a workforce of young and skilled candidates is needed by the country to major extent thus as per the Canada Immigration Plan 2018 – 2020, there is a need to invite 2,50,000 immigrants in Canada thus this is the best time for Canada Immigration.


 Since January 2015, the immigration to Canada for the skilled candidates especially has become faster and convenient than before as applications are now filed under the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP) of the Express Entry System. There are certain rules and guidelines which make a candidate eligible under the Federal Skilled Workers Program(FSWP)
  • Minimum of 67 points are needed to immigrate through FSWP
  • Candidate is skilled and eligible to work in Canada
  • Having a Job offer is good news although there are ways to migrate without a job offer too
  • Proof of funds to show that you will be able to support yourself and your family after migrating to Canada.
  • Meet the minimum language criteria in English or French Language.
  • There are extra points for arranged employment in Canada or Adaptability in Canada – if you have job offer in hand then it can get you extra 10 points, a really good job offer can also get you 200 points in Canada.



Types of Skills and Work needed in Canada

The skills and work in Canada are classified on the basis of National Occupational Classification (NOC) and the sub categories in this are-

Skill Type 0 – Managerial occupations
Skill Type A – Professional Occupations
Skill Type B -  Technical occupations

The skill type of C and D is for low and semi-skilled workers in primary manufacturing industries and trades as well as certain clerical jobs which are not listed in the NOC category.

To apply for employment opportunity in Canada the work that is counted is of full time continuous employment of atleast one year with an organisation. At times the part time job is also counted in the work experience but provided that at the time of working you were not a full time student.  Further there should be an equal amount payment in the Part-time work that means 15 hours / week for 24 months = 1-year full time (1560 hours)
Or,
30 hours/ week for 12 months at more than one job = full time one year (1560 hours)

 Also, note that any non- paid employment is not counted under the Canadian Experience Class.
