How many bands are required for Canada Permanent Residency ( PR) Status?

The first step towards immigration to Canada is undertaking the IELTS examination. IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada) tests the proficiency of the English language through the IELTS and CLB examination and securing a good score in the examination establishes the proficiency in the language for the candidate.   • Express Entry Program – All the modules (Reading, writing, Speaking and Listening) require a minimum band of 6
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) - All the modules (Reading, writing, Speaking and Listening) require a minimum band of 6. Some exceptions are:

§  Nova  Scotia  - Minimum band requirement is 4.5 in each module
§  Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program( SINP) - Minimum band requirement is 4.5 in each module
